The Steam Workshop is once again being enriched with an intriguing game mode from Zet0r — the creator of nZombies, You Touched it Last, Cops and Runners.
The essence of the game mode revolves around a game of tag using cars. At the beginning of the round, one player becomes the chaser, and their task is to tag all the other players. If the chaser tags another car, that car switches sides. The game mode and the cars themselves have all the necessary functionality for an enjoyable gameplay experience, but that’s not what makes it interesting.
This mode is part of the advertising campaign for Renault MODDER5 and their new electric vehicle, the R5. Renault sent a letter to Zet0r with the aim of commissioning him to add their new car to Garry’s Mod. He was given complete creative freedom, with the only requirement being to “place this new car in Garry’s Mod.” The name was chosen by the company itself. Zet0r plans to create a separate version with expanded customization options for the mode, including the ability to change cars, team colors, and more.
It’s remarkable that despite its considerable age, Renault still pays attention to Garry’s Mod and collaborates not even with Facepunch directly, but with talented creators from the Steam Workshop, resulting in a simple, fun mode featuring rides in new electric cars.
