Local Matters - is a term for group announcements concerning changes within our local community, relevant primarily to group members. For example, Staryy Steams October.

Global Matters - is a term for reports, also published as announcements, but distinguished by their “global” nature. This specificity means they cover news potentially interesting to the wider Garry’s Mod community, beyond just The Alium. Reports are mandatory when a topic affects the entire Garry’s Mod community - such as game updates, server browser raids, or the passing of popular figures. For example, November Update 2025.
